Captured on May 30, 2020 during the nationwide uprising following the murder of George Floyd.

For a brief moment, an ordinary stretch of Interstate 95 became something else.

A public square.
A stage.
A monument.

A young woman stands atop a graffiti-covered police cruiser with her fist raised while thousands moved through the city demanding justice and imagining a different future. The photograph captures one of those rare moments when history stops feeling distant and unfolds directly in front of you.
